- WORK TEAMS
- Teams are comprised of 20 folks who stay at the Good
Shepherd, UCC in Metairie, LA
- Housing is at the church in bunk beds or on cots or air
mattresses and we prepare our own meals
- Construction teams should have at least 2 skilled persons, the more the better! (carpenters,contractors ...)
and lot’s of willing hands – skilled or unskilled
- Construction work is done on homes in New Orleans, Homes in the suburbs and on the area UCC Churches
- Educational teams include certified teachers (past or present certification), and educators/dramatists/musicians to do a performance from curriculum related material,followed by learning centers based on the theme (math, geography, writing, “wondering”...)
- The cost is $950 – this includes airfare, room, board, ground transportation in LA, missionary accident insurance, a leadership fee and $200/person for supplies, tools and building materials
- Dates of Massachusetts trips are posted on the WAMS,UCC
website
- ITEMS TO SHARE
- School supplies for students or teachers
- Handmade prayer shawls, quilts, blankets
- Gently used musical instruments (band/orchestra)
- Many items of school curriculum or equipment that are being replaced may be needed (check with the Book Ministry Coordinator Sheila Allred sheallred@gmail.com)
- Like-new books for pre-schoolers through high school youth
are less needed than they were – but still welcome
- MONEY
- Write checks for housing materials & educational supplies for rebuilding in conjunction with MACUCC worktrips - to WAMS, (Worcester Area Missions Society) earmarked “hurricane recovery.” www.WAMSUCC.org

- $25 gift certificates for Home Depot, Loews, Target,
Walgreen’s or Sears to be used for personal assistance
