The Rev. Nancy Shantia Wright-Gray is the Mission Educator and [Workdays for Adults and Youth in Service] WAYS Coordinator for WAMS,UCC
Shantia can help you:
- With educational material for churches, which would like to DO something about
Homelessness
- Participate in WAYS days at sites in Central Massachusetts. We organize church folk to
repair homes for the elderly, poor or disabled, and to repair buildings for human
service agencies.
- Participate in WAYS days in the New Orleans area. We are leading about 8 trips a year
to help in the recovery effort in the Gulf Coast. Our work includes construction,
educational support for the schools, and helping – as we can – to match folks
with particular skills to places where their skill can be used (eg. Social work,
nursing, legal questions, filling out forms).
- Identify mission sites that would welcome the service of your church’s adults and youth.
Shantia has been serving UCC congregations for over 30 years.
She attended Springfield College and Princeton Theological Seminary.
Mission outreach and community building have always been a primary focus in Shantia’s ministry.
Small businesses making and selling Prayer Bracelets, and offering Massage Therapy fill other parts of life.
Shantia and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Wright-Gray, have three adult children, and live in Sterling with their Bichon Frise dog, Pippin.
